Scuba Diving Phi Phi with PADI Dive Center - Ocean Divers

Koh Bida Nok has a nicely sheltered bay which is great for starting the dive, and perfect for those learning to dive. Stretching to the south is what is known as Finger Reef and and on the shallower lagoon side several types of morays, juvenile box fish and scorpionfish are often spotted. Once crossing the reef you reach the deep side, reaching down to about 27 metres, which has a beautiful coral encrusted wall with large gorgonian sea fans. Several large shoals of fish are usually found here among groups of hunting trevally.

Across the sandy area outside of the lagoon you can find kuhl’s stingrays and sometimes an indian walkman scorpionfish! A tigertail sea horse is sometimes found hiding in sea fans at 14-16 metres. Leopard sharks may be spotted sleeping on the sandy bottom and black tip reef sharks are often spotted in the shallow areas during the safety stop!

Scuba Diving Ko Lanta, Thailand with PADI Dive Center - Ocean Divers

Koh Bida Nai is an excellent dive site with an abundance of life. The southern side of the island has large boulders dispersed underwater and create two excellent swim throughs. This can be a good place to find ornate ghost pipefish, anemone crabs and other small critters.

A highlight of this dive is Fantasy Reef where you may see black tip reef sharks off in the distance as you swim over a field of staghorn coral. In this area you often get huge schools of different types of snappers and barracuda that will swirl around divers creating breathtaking scenes! While making your way around Fantasy Reef and its numerous large sea fans, keep an eye for leopard sharks resting on the sand. Several different types of lionfish, pufferfish and moray eels are also plentiful.
