There are some world famous dive sites relatively close to Koh Lanta. These sites tend to be deeper or more challenging than the local diving areas and therefore are suited to more experienced divers. To visit one of these sites we recommend that you have an Advanced Open Water qualification, or be an Open Water Diver with at least 20 logged dives. Less experienced divers can enjoy these sites as part their Advanced or Specialty Course, under the supervision of one of our PADI instructors.
At Ocean Divers we believe your vacation time is valuable and should not be wasted sitting on a boat unnecessarily. Big dive boats can take in excess of 4 hours to get to Hin Daeng & Hin Muang, the King Cruiser Wreck, Shark Point & Anemone Reef. That is why we use our large speedboat, which can shave 60% off the journey time. In real terms we cut 5 hours off the travelling time, that’s 5 hours you could be spending on the beach, sitting with your feet up in a bar or exploring the beautiful island of Koh Lanta.
After a free transfer from your hotel you will be met by your dive guide and meet the rest of your dive team. We limit the teams to just 4 divers to each staff member and a maximum of 14 divers on the boat, including our dive staff! After breakfast at our restaurant the boat will depart at 8:15.
Complimentary refreshments are available all day with lunch being served during the surface interval in between the 2 dives. Due to the geographical and geological nature of these sites there are very limited opportunities for snorkeling. The boat will return to our base at approximately 15:30 where we will have transport waiting to take you back to your accommodation.
